Port Harcourt 4: 13 Suspected Remanded In Prison
The thirteen suspects accused of killing the four University of Port Harcourt students were today arraigned in Port Harcourt Magistrate Court on a five-count charge, which included murder.
The presiding magistrate ordered their remand in the Port Harcourt prison.
The suspects were paraded before journalists yesterday by Mr Muhammed Ndabuwa, Rivers Commissioner of Police. Two of them David Ugbaje and Ikechukwu Louis Amadi,Alias Capoon admitted beating the late students while fielding questions from journalists.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Emmanuel Woke, declined taking any plea stating that the Court lacked Jurisdiction to entertain the case
He therefore ordered that they be remanded in Port Harcourt prison pending when they are brought before an a High Court of competent jurisdiction.
