3 Companies Endorse Nigerian Financial Technology Awards
In a bid to take the financial technology industry to greater height while ensuring the entrenchment of global best practice, the Computer Warehouse Group, Credit Registry and SystemSpecs, have endorsed the Nigerian Financial Technology awards 2012. These companies have sponsored different categories of the awards.
Institutions that have distinguished themselves in the provision of financial service via the use of technology would be honoured and celebrated at the awards ceremony billed to hold at the Grand Ballroom of the prestigious Lekki Oriental Hotel, Lagos, on Friday, November 30.
The awards, which would be to reward and recognise innovations and excellence in information technology activities in the banking, insurance, micro finance industry and capital market, is in commemoration of the Financial Technology fifth year anniversary.
Editor-in-chief, Financial Technology magazine, Sola Fanawopo, said companies that sponsor any of the 16 categories under services would be automatically ineligible to win in those categories. As such, these companies would not be qualified to partake in each of the sponsored categories.
Awards will be given in the following categories; Best use of IT in mobile-payment (bank-led), Best use of IT in mobile-payment (bank-focused), Best use of IT for mobile-payment (independent), Best use of IT in trading system, Best use of IT in government & public transactions, IT personality of the year (male and female), Best use of IT in corporate & investment banking, Best use of IT in retail banking and other categories.
Also, awards will be given to products that thrived via IT like outstanding core banking application, outstanding enterprise management product, outstanding risk management product and outstanding innovative new product awards.
A special award will also be given to institutions and individuals who have distinguished themselves in the implementation of Cashless Lagos, which is an initiative of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
