The Meeting Excites Movie Buffs

Cinema audiences across Nigeria have continued to applaud the captivating story line and stellar cast of ‘The Meeting’, a new movie from the stable of the Audrey Silva Company (TASC), which is currently showing in  cinemas across Nigerian cities.

Directed by Mildred Okwo and co-produced by Mildred and Rita Dominic, the romantic comedy, which also stars Rita Dominic and Jide Kosoko, addresses an array of contemporary issues that resonate with audiences, ranging from love through African time, to tackling officials and manoeuvring red tape.

The movie has been described by movie buffs in superlative terms such as “spectacular”, “thoroughly entertaining”, “hilarious” and “a movie that weaves a love story with serious expose on bribery, but reveals both sides to the story at the same pace”.

Chude Jideonwo, a lawyer and communications entrepreneur said, “I’ve just finished watching the movie, ‘The Meeting’ and Rita Dominic was magnificent.”

The compliment is echoed by marketing specialist and respected fashion designer, Mai Atafo, who described it as “one of the best Nigerian movies I have seen in a long time”.

Reminiscing his experience, the first night the movie was released at the Silverbird Galleria, a movie enthusiast, Kayode Akintemi, noted that “The Meeting got an ovation at the Galleria tonight”, adding that the producers should be proud of their work.

In the same vein, Isaiah Anani believes “The Meeting is the best Nollywood movie since the inception of Nollywood. It’s an A- grade movie”.
