Tiwa Banks Wants Justice

Female singer, Tiwa Banks, who was stabbed in various parts of her body by Tobi Obadina, her landlord’s son on Monday, has said that she wants justice to prevail in the case.
The singer is currently admitted at Veta Hospital, Ikeja, where she is receiving treatment for wounds inflicted with a broken bottle by Tobi.
According to Tiwa, Tobi invaded her apartment on 20, Yusuf Street, Araromi in Ikeja at about 7:30 p.m on Monday.
Speaking with Entertainment Café from her hospital bed, Tiwa said for some months, Tobi had threatened her with bodily harm. “There was a time he punched me in the chest, threatening to disfigure my face. I reported him to his father, who is also my landlord, but he wouldn’t do anything about it or take any action on the matter. So I called my father, who came from his base in Abeokuta to intervene on the matter, but my landlord didn’t give him audience,” she said.
After her father left, Tiwa added, Tobi poured a bucket of water into her room through the window. He followed it up by smashing the windows of her sitting room before smashing a bottle on her head. “My brother got injured while trying to wrest the bottle from him. It was after injuring my brother that Tobi stabbed me severally. He also stabbed some neighbors who tried to save me from him,” claimed Tiwa.
Tobi, who has been arrested and detained at Mosalashi Police Station in Araromi, was said to have boasted that nothing would happen to him because he is the son of a retired police officer. Tobi’s step-mother is also a police corporal.
“This is not the first time Tobi will be involved in such act. He once stabbed a pregnant neighbour and got away with it, but I want justice to prevail this time around,” Tiwa reiterated.
Entertainment Café gathered that Tiwa’s colleagues like Stella Damasus, Ruggedman, DJ Slam, Weird MC and some women activists have intervened in the matter.
