3 Die Of Suspected Food Poisoning

Three persons were this morning found dead inside a house opposite Aluko bus stop, Ijoko, Ogun State,  Nigeria, while eight others who were gasping for breath were rushed to the hospital for treatment following suspected food poisoning.

Neighbours said they suspected they might have died of food poisoning since the generator in the house did not function during the party the family organised earlier in the day.

The deceased were identified as the first born of the landlord, a 70-year old mother of the landlord, and his grandchild, a 4-year old boy who was on holidays.

The three victims were found dead with foam in their mouths when the door to the house was forced opened.

A source informed P.M.NEWS that a new year party was held in the house on Wednesday where there was a lot to eat and drink.

The chairman, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Oloruntoba Oke called at the scene of the incident this morning.

Policemen from Ayinla Police Station were also at the scene.

The corpses of the three victims were still lying on the floor of the house, as at the time of filing this report.

Doctors were also battling to save the lives of the three victims rushed to Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital when our correspondent visited the hospital.

The other five victims were rushed to Ota General Hospital for treatment.
