Gov Fayemi Dissolves Cabinet

The Governor of Ekiti State, southwest Nigeria, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has dissolved the state executive council.

The dissolution took place Wednesday afternoon. No reason was given for the governor’s action.

One of the governor’s aides confirmed to P.M.NEWS that the 36 members of the exco comprising commissioners and special advisers were affected.

No one is sure if some of the affected former cabinet members will be re-appointed into the new cabinet yet to be constituted.

The dissolved cabinet was formed shortly after Fayemi assumed office on 16 October, 2010.
