Jinad: I Can’t Be Typecast
Yoruba movie producer and actress, Habibat Jinad, says she is versatile and cannot be limited to a role.
Habibat, who has already produced two movies, Omo K’omo and Iku L’okurin, said only inflexible actresses are in danger of being stereotyped.
“I have played the role of a doctor, mother, child and even that of a social miscreant. There is no role I can’t play, and that is what it takes to be a successful actress. But I love to play the role of a thug more because with my looks and nature, some people would assume I can’t interpret such role well,” she said.

The beautiful Ogun State-born actress is a protégé of Afis Owo. She has featured in many films, including Igboro Ti Daru, Omo Ghetto (Part 2), Aremu Swagger and Folajomi.
She is expected to hit location soon for her third movie as a producer. The yet-to-be-titled flick, Habibat said, will parade stars like Kelvin Ikeduba, Odunlade Adekola, Gabriel Afolayan and Rachael Oniga.
