Jonathan Gives Anti-Corruption Task To New Head Of Service
President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday tasked the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Bukar Goni Aji to embark on measures that will enhance discipline, reduce corruption and return the civil service to its glorious past.
The President who spoke while swearing in the new head of service also asked the new HoSCF to focus on areas that will help the administration to deliver on critical sectors like agriculture, infrastructure, education, health which he described as critical to the lives of Nigerians.
The President who noted that the civil service is central to the transformation agenda of his administration added that the new HoSF must also pursue with vigour the true implementation of the performance management system in the civil service which he said will positively enhance the ability of civil servants to discharge their responsibilities.

He urged Alhaji Aji to use his vast experience to ensure realisation of the dreams of government even as he also asked him to work hard to restore the civil service to its position of “historically acknowledged citadel of excellence where the best brains, equipment and strategies are engaged.”
“It is in this regard I want to call on all civil servants to lent you their unalloyed support especially the permanent secretaries that will work with you and cooperate in the movement of greater efficiency, dedication, patriotism in service” the president noted.
Alhaji Goni Bukar Aji later told journalists that he will build on the achievements of his predecessor to ensure concrete outcomes for the people. He also said the issue of job racketeering, was not unique to the civil service pointing out that “just like any other sector of our national life, you must know there are syndicates, there are crooks who tap into the websites of agencies that are not even known to those agencies and before you know it, unsuspecting Nigerians are found in the hands of those dubious characters.”
The ceremony was attended by Alhaji Isa Bello Sali, Aji’s predecessor, other retired heads of service, some members of the Federal Executive Council, top civil servants and other guests.
