Eto’o Wins Russian League MVP

Cameroon international of Dagestan side Anzhi Makhachkala has been named best player of the Russian Premier League of the 2012-13 season.

The four-time African Footballer of the Year, who also captains the Makhachkalanians, helped the team to finish third on the league table.

“I am very proud of this new award. I was named as the best player in the Russian league for 2012-2013 season, all this has been possible thanks to your continued support,” Eto’o said in message to fans and journalist on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old striker will miss Cameroon’s clash against Togo on 9 June after he was sidelined due to injury.

Cameroon are leading Group I with 6 points ahead of Libya (5points), DR Congo (4points) and Togo (1.point).
