Fed Cup: ‎‎Glo rallies support for Enyimba, Warri Wolves

Telecom giant,Globacom on Friday enjoined football fans across the country to troop out in large numbers to the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos venue of the Federation Cup final match between Enyimba of Aba and Warri Wolves.

The company said that all indications point to a memorable final that will determine the champion of Nigerian football in 2013. The final match, which comes up on Sunday will be preceded by the losers’ final between Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Akwa United of Uyo.‎

“There has been a tremendous improvement in the manner this year’s Federation Cup has progressed and we expect that it will end in a more electrifying manner with lots of entertainment at the venue,” a Globacom statement said in Lagos on Friday.‎

“It has been the resolve of the nation to re-ignite the glamour that the Federation Cup was noted for in the past and that is why we are calling on the fans once again to play their role by coming out en-masse to cheer their favourite teams to victory,” the statement added.‎

Globacom commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the significant improvement in the organisation of the annual competition while saluting the Lagos State government for providing a good ambience for the final showdown.

“The essence of this competition is to produce the true champions of Nigerian football who would compete favourably in the continent as well as the FIFA World Club Championship,” Globacom further said.

Globacom is the major partner of the NFF and official telecommunications sponsor of the Federation Cup.
