PDP candidate, monarch held hostage; vehicles burnt

Nigeria’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate in the Delta Central Senatorial by-election, Chief Emmanuel Agwariavwodo, party leaders, the traditional ruler of Agbon Kingdom, HRH Mike Omeru Ukori I and several policemen were Friday held hostage at Kokori, Ethiope East local government area of the state, by thugs said to be loyal to the detained notorious kidnapper, Kelvin Prosper Oniarah,.
Also, several cars worth millions of naira, parked inside and outside the palace were set blaze by the thugs.

The incident which lasted several hours witnessed a demonstration by the Kelvin boys and some of the community youths who called for the immediate release of their boss.
The senatorial hopful had flagged off his campaign yesterday in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state, with Kokori being his next point of call.
