Omotola Jalade Bags UK Prestigious Awards
Nigeria’s screen queen, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has added another diamond to her crown. Last weekend, the actress was honour with the Ebony Vanguard Award at the 7th Birmingham International Film Festival’s MVISA Award held at the ICC Conference Centre in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Omotola was honoured with the night’s highest award for her inspiring role in the creative industry and social activism.
Dean Alexander, founder of the festival and award said: “Omotola is not only one of the most influential people in the world, she is indeed one of the most inspiring and it is our pleasure to celebrate this unique personality here in the United Kingdom.”
Omotola who stormed the United Kingdom from Doha, Qatar, where she was one of the influential speakers at the World Innovation Summit on Education alongside former Australia Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, gracefully accepted the award.
While she dedicated the award to God, her family and adoring fans, she also thanked the entire Nollywood stakeholders for her career.
MVISA Award is one of UK’s most prestigious events on the entertainment calendar. The award night, hosted by Actor Chukky Venn and Actress Lorna Laidlaw, was full of glamour and lived up to all expectations.
