Elderson Echiejile has joined other Super Eagles stars to back the home-based Eagles at the 2014 CHAN in South Africa.
Victor Nsofor, Brown Ideye, James Okwuosa and stand-in skipper Vincent Enyeama have all spurred the Eagles to do well at the tournament reserved for local professionals.
“I believe in this team having playing along with several of them in the main national team and I am confident they will again do the nation proud,” Echiejile told his official website www.elderson3.com
“They have great coaches guiding them and they also know this is their chance to rise and shine.
“They return to South Africa, where we won a third Africa Cup of Nations only last year, and I know they can go on to also do same there after what they have showed in their warm-up matches especially their last game against Ethiopia in Abuja.”
Nigeria will begin their CHAN campaign on Saturday against fellow West Africans Mali.
The other teams in their first round group are hosts South Africa and Mozambique.
