When Governor Raji Fashola of Lagos opened the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge in 2013, his objective was to shorten the shuttle time between two highbrow areas of Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria.
But today, the bridge has given birth to an unintended consequence as residents in the neighbourhood now use it for physical exercises. Everyday, keep-fit conscious Lagosians use the bridge’s walkway to jog.
