President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, has said the football body will support Greater Tomorrow’s Foundation, a pet project by former Super Eagles player, Paul Okoku.

The foundation, which was launched at an elaborate ceremony recently in Abuja, is established to cater for the less privileged children in the country.

Maigari who was not at the launch of the foundation, was represented by a management staff of the federation, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, NFF’s Director of Competition. After the launch, the former Flying Eagles star, was a guest of Maigari in his office in Abuja where he told Okoku–a silver medal winner for the Eagles at the 1982 Africa Cup of Nations hosted in Ivory Coast–that he was touched by the kind gesture.

“I was moved by your foundation’s launch event, particularly, that of the power point presentation by Dr. Seidu Bello. We are proud that a former Super Eagles player has come up with such an initiative to help less-privileged children in our society. I want you to know that we are behind you and will support you one hundred per cent,” he promised.

To which Okoku said: “I am grateful and honored to have the support of the NFF. This initiative will take a collective effort from all of us, I mean all Nigerians, to ensure that we empower less-privileged children. Through this humanitarian project we can guarantee them a bright future,” he said.
