Fresh Abuja bomb: NAN reports 10 dead

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), quoting witnesses said no fewer than 10 people may have died in the latest bomb explosion at Nyanya, Abuja.

Eyewitnesses at the scene told NAN that the explosion, which happened few metres away from the 14 April one, took place at around 8 p.m.

Witnesses reported seeing at least 10 dead bodies although there is no official confirmation of the casualty figure.

Security operatives and para military officials have cordoned off the area as many commuters were left stranded.

Hundreds of people, who besieged the scene, were kept at bay by gun-totting soldiers while shops and other

businesses around the area have been closed down.

Meanwhile, traffic from the city going into Nyanya has been diverted while those coming in from Keffi were blocked.
