Insurgency: Yauri Emirate Council warns Islamic schools

The Yauri Emirate Council in Kebbi has warned teachers and proprietors of Islamic schools in the area against admitting unverified candidates in order to avoid insurgency.
The Publicity Secretary of the council, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, gave the warning in an interview with NAN in Yauri on Wednesday.
Mohammed said that the council had organised a forum comprising district heads, Islamic teachers and Islamic schools proprietors to evolve measures to ensure security and identification of students as well as teachings within the confines of Islam.
“The forum is streamlining admission of students, henceforth, thorough investigation on candidates being admitted into the schools must be conducted.
“Gone are the days when candidates presented themselves for admission into Islamic schools with scanty details about their background.
“We want Islamic teachers to ascertain who brings the candidates and their backgrounds.”
He said that the Islamic teachers had pledged to henceforth admit only verified candidates.
