The absence of the prosecutor on Monday stalled proceedings in an FCT High Court in the trial of Terkura Enoch-Kaa, who is charged with alleged killing of his wife Lorreta, a 44-year old teacher.

Enoch-Kaa, an Abuja-based pastor of Household of Grace Church, Kubwa, FCT, is arraigned on one count charge of culpable homicide.

At resumed sitting on Monday, the accused counsel, Mr Joseph Henkeyerr, told the court that the prosecutor, ASP Priscilla Oguamalum was not in court.

Henkeyerr, told the court that Oguamalum has not written to inform it that she will be absent.

Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf, who frowned at the absence of the prosecutor without any reason, adjourned the matter until 29 July for continuation of hearing.

He said that the adjournment was given in the interest of justice.

NAN recalls that at the last sitting of the court on 3 March, Baba-Yusuf had ordered Enoch-Kaa, to produce the prosecution key witness in his custody.

Baba-Yusuf, gave the order after the prosecution told the court that the accused and his relatives, had abducted her key witness, Ms Praise Enoch-Kaa, the accused’s adopted daughter.

Enoch-Kaa had pleaded not guilty to the one court charge which the prosecution said contravened the provisions of

Section 221 of the Penal Code.
