YOMAFA Season 3 Holds

The season 3 of Yoruba Music and Films Awards (YOMAFA) will hold on Sunday, 29 June, 2014 at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

YOMAFA, a Gbenga Leo Taiwo-led project is designed and aimed at rewarding artistes, icons, legends, corporate outfits, African products and individuals who support and promote cultural heritage.

According the event publicity secretary, Ayo Idowu, the annual awards ceremony also showcases and celebrates the richness and dexterity of African culture, African corporate bodies and music and film industry of the Yoruba race home and abroad.

Idowu stated that more than thirty five categories of both music and film will feature in this year’s edition including Best Fuji Artiste, Best Gospel Music Singer, Best Islamic Music Singer, Best Juju Music Singer and Best Traditional Music Singer, males and females respectively.

Others are Best Movie Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Movie, Best Movie Marketer and Best Supporting Actor and Actress among others in the category.

Dignitaries are expected from all walks of life to grace the show which debuted in November, 2008 at the Lagos Television (LTV) complex.
