Sokoto District Head loses 5 family members to accident

Five persons from the same family have been reportedly killed in a road accident that occurred on Saturday on Shagari-Tureta road in Sokoto state.

NAN learnt that the deceased were members of the family of Alhaji Shehu Umar, District Head of Dogon Daji in Tambuwal local government area.

The deceased included the son of the district head, his daughter, two grand children and his 74-year old younger sister.

They were said to be travelling from Dogon Daji to Abuja on a condolence ‎visit when their vehicle collided with a petroleum tanker.

The bereaved the District Head, described the accident as ‘an act of God’.

The Spokesman of the state Police command, DSP Al-mustapha Sani confirmed the accident.
