Okoya Joins Lagos Island House Of Reps Race

Lagos-based business woman, industrialist and staunch member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaja Maimunat Okoya, has declared her intention to contest the House of Representatives seat under Lagos Island Federal Constituency 02, in 2015.

Okoya while speaking with Political Platform, said her desire is to completely transform the lives of youths, women and the elderly in her Constituency through employment, empowerment and educational programmes.

She vowed to use her skills and experience as a successful business woman and an industrialist to transform lives and chart a better future for the teeming unemployed youth in Lagos Island Constituency 2.

Okoya said if given the opportunity to represent her people at the National Assembly, she will ensure the distributorship of various goods based on ability and speciality of individuals and equally give credit facilities for such goods.

She pledged to sponsor wealth creation programmes that will lead to youth employment and revenue generation

She added that she will oversee courses, programmes and offer scholarship to outstanding students in Lagos Island Constituency 2.

“I will organize talent hunt programmes in athletics, education and cooking. I will also provide school buses and extra-tutorial classes for the students as well as monthly allowance for the elderly.

“I will equally make available mobile clinics in various wards in Lagos Island for checking of blood pressure, test for diabetes, eye tests and collection of eye glasses,” she vowed.

The successful business woman and industrialist pledged to co-sponsor the annual religious festivals in Lagos Island.
