INEC completes accreditation on OAU campus, begins voting

Independent Electoral Commission began accreditation of eligible voters by 7:300 a.m. in Obafemi Awolowo University community, Ile-Ife, Osun state.
Polling stations on OAU campus have witnessed a mass turn out of voters mostly students, academic staffs and non-academic staffs of OAU community.
Polling booths on OAU campus were stationed in OAU staff school, Awolowo Hall of residence, Moremi Hall of residence and sport complex.
P.M. NEWS gathered that INEC officials have been at the various polling stations since 6:30 a.m. to ensure adequate preparation before the arrival of the voters.
Aina Adetola , who is an INEC official at OAU staff quarter’s polling station, spoke to our correspondent about the favourable atmosphere of the ongoing accreditation and the preparedness of the INEC officials to ensure free and fair election.
“The accreditation exercise is on, some have been accredited while we still expect some voters to come around. The turn-out of the voters have been impressive and everything here have been cool.
“My colleagues both on campus and other polling stations have been working relentlessly in other to ensure free and fair election,” he said.
P.M. NEWS recalls that voting commenced at 12:30 p.m. with voters eager to cast their votes.
Ezekiel Ogunde, an electorate at the Awolowo polling station, OAU campus, Ile-Ife spoke of his readiness to vote for his preferred candidate. He also commends INEC officials and the Department of State Security Services who have been working effectively to ensure free and fair election.
“We have been told that the election will start by 12:30pm. Today is the day we have all been waiting for and I belive our next governor of Osun State will be known after this electioneering exercise.
“I must commend the INEC officials, the Department of State Security Services and other law enforcemenmt agencies present here for their effective job. Osun a dara o,” he enthused.
