Former governor of Bayelsa, Deprieye Alameiseigha, has said that the Transformation Agenda of the president can only be realistic if every Nigerians understand the concept and embrace it.

Alameiseigha made this known at the 53rd Annual Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) in Warri, Delta, on Tuesday.

At the colloquium themed: ‘Making the Nigerian Socio-economic Transformation Dream a Reality: Our Viewpoints’ he said the agenda of the Federal Government was being hampered by inability of most Nigerians, including presidential aides, to comprehend its meaning let alone translate it into reality.

The colloquium, anchored by Dr John Alabi from the Kogi State University, Ayingba, had five discussants – Prof. Sam Oyevbaire, former Minister of information; Prof. Adola Adenikinju of Centre for Petroleum.

“Transformation begins from our home, transformation must start with the people. How many of us manage our homes well?

“How many of us discuss with our spouses on how to manage the home before we came here? How many of the presidential aides understand what transformation is all about. Most people don’t understand what transformation is all about. Is it the idea of Mr President? Most of us do not even know what it means to transform.

“Most of us do not even know the geography of Nigeria. How do you transform when you do not know the geography of Nigeria,” Alamieseigha said.
