Lawmakers back FG against Boko Haram – Rep
Rep. John Owan-Enoh (PDP-Cross River) says the house supports Federal Government’s military action against the Boko Haram insurgency.
Owan-Enoh said this Monday in Calabar while addressing newsmen on his stewardship and aspiration to contest the Cross River Central Senatorial seat in 2015 general elections.
“It appears that the Nigerian government is now getting it right. The government has done very well to contain insurgency in the country.
“And I think what remains now is for them to continue in that direction. The National Assembly is very supportive of government actions,” he said.
He said that his desire to move up to the senate was due to pressure from his constituents, adding that he was not anointed by anybody.

Owan-Enoh, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, called on the media to disregard rumours that the PDP had given automatic tickets to all legislators.
“No PDP anywhere has endorsed any lawmaker; it is only the office of the president that has the right of first refusal and not any other.
“There is no reason for the PDP to give any lawmaker automatic ticket and it will never happen,” he said.
Owan-Enoh stressed the need for the media to always uphold the principle of fair hearing before going to the press, to give balanced reportage of all concerned.
According to him, arrangements have been concluded for his formal declaration for the Senate in the 2015 elections.
Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma-Egba, is currently representing the Cross River Central and has also indicated interest to retain the seat in 2015.
