Former governorship candidate of Labour Party, LP during the 2011 gubernatorial election in Ogun state, Asiwaju Olajide Awosedo has described the incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun as the architect of modern Ogun State.

He stated that the governor has wonderfully performed well and deserved to be given a chance to complete the good work he has started.

Awosedo disclosed this on Friday while speaking with our correspondent in Atan, headquarters of the Ijebu East local government during the tour by the governor in continuation of his local government assessment and monitoring tour.

“I am here to commend the governor, I said it in Odogbolu that the man is a wonderful man and we all need to rally round him and give him all necessary support to excel. He is an architect of modern Ogun State; the state could be looking the way it is now in the past years. But within just three years plus, we are all living witnesses to his laudable projects and programmes and we must support him so as to finish the good works he has started well.

While responding to question on whether he is aspiring for an elective post, the Okun Owa born politician and the Otun Asiwaju Christians of Ijebuland said, “My coming to the party is not for either seeking for elective or appointed office but to give necessary support to the governor because all the good works he is doing is beyond many people’s comprehension and he cannot do it alone, we all need to rally round him and give him full support.

“Whatever the party decides is their decision and that is supreme. I am not joining the party basically because I am aspiring for any offices but the party decision will be the final”, Awosedo declared.

In the same vein, a federal lawmaker, representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye has described Governor Amosun as an agent of not just change but a good change.

The federal lawmaker, who is believed to be among those loyal to former governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba disclosed this on Friday during the governor’s tour to Ijebu North East local government, which happens to be the lawmaker’s local government.

It would be recalled that another federal lawmaker, representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Hon. Olusegun Williams was among the entourage that followed the governor to Odogbolu on Wednesday and was fully on ground on Thursday when the train of the tour moved to Abeokuta South local government, which is his domain.

While speaking with newsmen at the rally, Odeneye, Ogbogbo-born federal lawmaker maintained that he was in full support of the present administration and will continue to be loyal and supportive to the government.

He however appealed to the good people of his local government and the state at large to support the administration by voting the governor back in office in 2015 to enable the dividends of democracy cut across all parts of the state.

“I want to state here clearly without fear or favour that Governor Ibikunle Amosun remains an agent of change, not just a change, but a good change. He is doing well in all areas and we should all rally round him and give him full support so that he can finish the good work.

“He can’t do everything at once, with what we have witnessed in the last three years, there is hope that the state will soon become great and even surpass Lagos State. Who will think of a bridge in Ijebu Ode, now we have one and there is another one at the express, this is part of development we are talking about and not stomach structure some people are yearning for.

“When development is everywhere, stomach structure will follow, it is in an enabling environment that business and investment thrives. Before the advent of this administration, many banks in Ijebu and some parts of the state were closed down due to insecurity, but today, we are all living witness to the approach the government put to security, we can now sleep with our two eyes closed. This is what governance is all about and not about sharing money or stomach structure as many believes,” Odeneye explained.
