Lagos Hosts Cocoa Investment Summit Today

‎Lagos will host a Cocoa Investment Summit on Monday to explore ways of re-energising Nigeria’s cocoa industry, the organisers said on Friday.

There have been reports that the global supply of cocoa is inadequate.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID), with support from the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) and Olam is organising the summit.

High-level government officials, senior executives of multinational food companies, local and international players in the chocolate industry, and top cocoa growers are expected to participate in the summi‎t which will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event, the organisers said, will provide a unique opportunity for key players in the public and private sectors to take a serious look at where Nigeria’s cocoa sector is.
