Mickey Drops ‘Kokoro Meji’

The Nigerian entertainment scene will be witnessing a new feel this weekend as budding Afro hip-hop act, Michael Olorunwa Abolade better known as Mickey, drops his most anticipated promotional track, Kokoro Meji.

The new single, was produced by Fliptyce, the prolific producer who has worked on hit tracks for many established stars, and it was mastered by Sheyman for UnderGrown Thugs Base/4Sight Entertainment, Mickey’s record label and management company.

Mickey, an undergraduate of the University of Lagos, studying Economics, has been described by some music pundits as the ‘next big thing’ in the music industry.

Armed with irresistible beats, catchy flows and deep lyrics that come with rich message, Mickey also believes the sky is his beginning and not his limit.

“I really took my time before hitting the music scene. I’ve been underground for a while studying the music industry and rehearsing. I’m not just here to add to the number; I’m here to make a difference and rule the industry like a colossus. My music is unique based on lyrics, beats and message. Nigerians should watch out for me,” he told P.M.NEWS Entertainment Café.

Mickey is a prolific songwriter, singer and performer. He started his music career in the church as a chorister before he began miming and singing while he moved to the college.

He decided to take the talent up as a career after he left the college in 2011 and has worked with the likes of Da-voz, Hammid, Fliptyce, and Sheyman.

The budding talent said his inspirations are Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Bob Marley, R Kelly, 2face Idibia, Tracy Chapman, Asa, Outkast, Wyclef Jean and Craig David.
