Election will hold in February, says Jonathan

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan met with the United States Secretary of State, John F. Kerry, assuring him that the general elections will hold as scheduled.
They both had fruitful discussions on security and the forthcoming election in February.
Jonathan assured Kerry that the February election will hold as planned and that the National Electoral Commission will be empowered to conduct the election.
He thanked the United States for helping Nigeria in its fight against Boko Haram.
The president assured Secretary Kerry that Nigeria is strongly committed to building the multinational task force in partnership with Cameroon, Chard, Niger and Benin Republic to fight insurgency.
