Why Wizkid, Skales Feud On Twitter

For some days now, two of Nigeria’s young talents and ex-label mates, Wizkid and Skales have been at each other’s throats. Baseline Music act, Skales and EME/Starboy Records star Wizkid were involved in a twitter spat which has degenerated into the use of unprintable words and curses. But real reasons behind the bad blood are gradually emerging.

A source close to the two camps said the biff started way back when they were both with EME as well as at Lead University, Ibadan, where Skales graduated and Wizkid dropped out.

But the recent Twitter spat started when Skales went on his Twitterhandle @youngskales to ask his followers which artiste they would want on his forthcoming debut album tentatively titled Man Of The Year.

The Baseline Music star got a load of suggestions but one follower particularly mentioned Wizkid on the Project to which Skales replied saying; “@Wizkidayo doesn’t have my time.”

This response, we gathered elicited a courtesy response from Wizkid. “Dude!! Lol. My home is ur home anytime g! U know I’m here whenever u’re ready! Blood still!” Wizkid tweeted in response.

Skales, perhaps had some bottled up issues and fired back. “No bad blood bro we family but show support to ur own for real it’s not by tweeting or bare words….”. And the Twitter melee ensued.

In a series of harsh tweets, Skales later accused Wizkid of stealing his beat, and also claimed to have written “Superstar”, one of Wizkid’s hit songs.

@wizkidayo nigga wat song are u talking about. U stole ma beat and made azonto…ur superstar song I wrote dat shit…don’t let me go on.” Skales spilled, a claim the StarBoi star refuted. “The Azonto beat was fully paid for by @Wizkidayo I don’t know what @Youngskales is talking about..I created that beat!!!!”

 This last outburst of Skales obviously set Wizkid off to reveal the sacrifice he made in support of Skales’ career while he was still with EME.

“I know you are looking for publicity for your new album so I won’t say nothing anymore… I went on tour even with u even when nobody called u for the show! Nd split my money with the whole team! Wow! Life is crazy my people! Ur enemies are closer than you think! Since u start ur career u never fit drop one album u say u write me song!”

Wizkid further let loose and went for his former buddy’s jugular. “The dude wearing fake chains nd begging hos for money!” “I’ll help finish ur dead career!…Even when the label wanted to drop ur ass cos u didn’t make one naira for 3 years! I was there!”

Surprisingly, since the feud between the duo started, their former boss, mentor and CEO of EME, Banky W, has not raised his voice to caution his protégés.
