Having been in the doldrums for quite some time, Great David and the Juju Sound Millionaires, one of the big music groups that rocked the Nigerian music scene in the early 80s, has staged a big comeback with the release of a new album titled My Vision.
In a chat with P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends, Mr. David Awokoya, leader of the group, said the multi-track master piece is a result of a painstaking research which took him a considerable number of years.
The veteran musician and choreographer also disclosed that while his albums were off the racks, his band was staging regular live performances, while he was busy trying some other things, one of which was his participation, together with his children as The Awokoya Family, in last year’s edition of Maltina Family Dance Competition organised by Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc.
Popular for his sonorous and mellifluous voice as well as scientific dance style, the new album indeed, is a sign that the Great David and the Juju Sound Millionaires is ready for a highly resourceful and eventful 2015.
“We have started this year on a high note with the release of our long awaited album and there are still a lot planned for 2015. I am highly grateful to God for His grace, while also excited about the encouragement and support of my fans and others, who have faith in what we are doing and can still do. I have been working and can’t wait for everyone to see what we have planned,” Awokoya said.
