Singer Asa Goes Spiritual In ‘Satan Be Gone Video’

Nigerian Paris-based soul singer, Asa has released the much anticipated video to the single Satan Be Gone off her third album, Bed Of Stone.

Directed by filmmaker Meji Alabi, music and visuals come together to present an atmospheric video reminiscent of the American Deep South, as an intense Asa dances alone in a church to bring the song’s story to life.

Currently on a concert tour of Europe promoting the album, Asa unveils another facet of her artistry with this new video.

The JM-produced track features a reverberating drumbeat and a driving guitar riff that are a perfect foil for Asa’s husky vocals, with lyrics rendered in both Yoruba and English.

Speaking about Bed Of Stone, the singer said: “I wanted to prove a point to those who felt, ‘Hey, you’re nothing, you’ve been stained; you don’t have hope.’”

Released in August 2014, the singer has received international acclaim for her third album, as well with reviewer Anna-Bianca Krause calling the album “beautiful, sensual and mature.”

Meanwhile, the international music star has released new promotional photographs as she embarks on the European leg of her Bed Of Stone album tour.

A departure from her usual laid back style, the French-Nigerian soul singer appears cool  in a sophisticated men’s wear inspired suit with a plunging neckline, and strikingly ephemeral in a white shirt paired with a full-length azure skirt, among other outfits.

The minimalist approach to her makeup highlights the styling to make sure that Asa’s mature, sultry, and alluring posture is front and centre.

The tour has been a success so far and Asa spoke briefly of its impact. “It has been an overwhelming experience. You know you have done well when fans can connect to you and you also feel such connection and that in itself is powerful which says you are successful,” she said.

The singer continues her tour in Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, with other cities to follow.
