APC committed to women’s rights, empowerment – Buhari

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has said that the party is committed to women’s rights and empowerment.
Buhari said this as women around the world celebrated the International Women’s Day.
The former head of state said the party could well produce the first female governor in the country after a woman emerged its governorship candidate in Taraba state.
“As we celebrate #IWD2015, I want to express my profound appreciation to all Nigerian women, especially my wife and daughters,” he wrote on his official Twitter page.
“I also extend my gratitude to all the women who are taking our message of Change to all corners of the country,” he said.
Adding that: “APC is committed to women’s rights and empowerment, and our candidate for the Taraba governorship is one such example.”
“If successful, Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan will be the first elected female governor in Nigeria. I urge you all to support her,” he stated.
He then urged all Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Card. “Your PVC empowers you all to show your support. Please collect yours and vote for Change on 28 March, and 11 April.”
