Princess Yetunde Onanuga, the deputy governorship designate in Ogun state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is optimistic that women across the 20 local government areas in the state will vote massively for the APC.

She stated this while giving the vote of thanks during the APC Southwest Zone Women’s Presidential rally held in Abeokuta yesterday.

She said that with the level of sensitisation and voters education the party has been conducting across the state, the people have been adequately informed and educated on how to cast their votes without voiding it.

Onanuga, who is running mate to incumbent, Governor Ibikunle Amosun maintained that, given her interaction with the people of the state, especially, the women, she is optimistic that APC is the party to beat in the state.

The southwest women led by the zonal women leader, Yeyeluwa Kemi Nelson yesterday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital played host to the wives of the presidential and vice presidential candidates of APC.

Hajia Aishat Muhammed Buhari and Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo alongside wives of some APC ruling states, serving female deputy governors, wives of former governors, wives of APC governorship candidates and other women leaders including the wife of the National Chairman of the party, Mrs Odigie-Oyegun stormed Abeokuta.

The women after a colourful rally held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium paid a courtesy visit to the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at his Presidential hilltop residence in Abeokuta.

The Yeye Otunba Anikilaya of Ijebuland however thanked all the women from across the country who have come to witness the mother of rally in the state, assuring them that the state will deliver its vote in support of the APC presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

“On behalf of our governor and his amiable wife, Olufunso Amosun, we thank our incoming first lady, Hajia Aishat Muhammadu Buhari for the word of encouragement to all our women. We want to assure you that come March 28, 2015,Ogun state people, especially our women, our mothers and and our daughters will massively cast our vote for your husband, our in coming President, General Muhammed Buhari.

“And to our own, the wife of the incoming Vice President, together we shall do the work and at the end we will have the course to thank and glorify God. We thank you for all your support and encouragement.

“To our people back at home, I want to thank you for all the support you have been given our governor and to complement all what he has started, we should not be deceived, as you votes for Amosun and other APC candidates, including General Buhari. When next we will be meeting again, we shall be celebrating victory,” she submitted.

Onanuga however advised women not to give out their voter cards to anybody or disclose their card pin numbers.

She charged them to be firm and determined to be part of the change the nation needs now, hinting that, “women are agents of change and as mothers, wives and sisters, we have a key role to play to ensure that this country change for better for us and our generations yet unborn,” Onanuga submitted.
