APC wins 18 seats in Nasarawa State Assembly, PDP holds 6

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State won 18 out of 24 seats in the state House of Assembly during the April 11 governorship and assembly elections nationwide.

The PDP got six members from the contest.

This is contained in a statement signed by Abubakar Aliyu-Mohammed, the Public Affairs Officer of INEC in the state, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Thursday.

Those who won APC tickets included Usman Yakubu-Dodo (Keana); Alhassan Suleiman-Dahiru (Uke/Karshi); Hashimu Jibrin (Karu/Gitata); Dangana Akoza-James (Doma South), and Alhaji Yahaya Rilwanu (Awe South).

Others, according to the statement, include Umar Tanko-Tunga (Awe North); Ibrahim Bala (Keffi West); Musa Aliyu (Keffi East); Abubakar Obere-Kana (Kokona West); Daniel Ogazi (Kokona East), and Abubakar Mohammed-Imam (Lafia Central).

It further listed Murtala Sodangi (Nasarawa Central); Okpoku Mohammed (Nasarawa West); Isa Sani- Mohammed (Obi 1); Saidu Galadima (Toto/ Gadabuke); Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi (Umuasha/Dausa); Makpa Malla (Wamba), and Kassim Mohammed (Akwanga South) as APC winners.

The PDP members are Mohammed Okpede (Doma North); Mohammed Ibrahim-Alkali (Lafia North); Luka Ilya-Zhekaba (Obi 2); Godiya Akwashiki (Nasarawa Eggon West); Mohammed Aga-Muluku (Nasarawa Eggon East), and Mbucho Peter (Akwanga North).

NAN reports that the APC in Gov. Tanko Al-makura’s second tenure now holds the majority seat in tha parliament, unlike in 2011 when PDP had 20 members against APC’S four.
