Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins has returned to training and could be in action this weekend when Seattle Sounders host Sporting Kansas City in an MLS game.
The former Birmingham City forward, who missed Saturday’s 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps due to a “tibial contusion”, trained separately on Monday and will train with the rest of the squad today, coach Sigi Schmid disclosed.
“He was working on his own. We’re hoping to have him tomorrow (Tuesday). He made strides, he ran on his own and we’ll see how he is for tomorrow (Tuesday),” Schmid said.
