Nigeria’s Super Eagles Team B camping in Pretoria, South Africa, received a surprise guest at their hotel Sunday when legend, Jomo Sono paid them a visit.

Media Officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye said Monday that Sono came to their camp to wish the team well in their outing at the Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) which kicks off in Kigali on 16 January.

Ibitoye disclosed that the coaches led by Sunday Oliseh and their players had good time with Sono who invited the team for free meal at his place.

The Media Officer also said that since the Chief Coach took over the training, things have changed entirely in the camp.

“The players are into serious training since we arrived Pretoria. The training is getting intense and competitive. The concentration is now on tactical work at the pitch of University of Pretoria,” said Ibitoye.

According to him, the spirit in camp is very high with the players looking forward to the kick off of CHAN in Kigali.

“There is excitement in the players because they are proud to be chosen to wear the colours of Nigeria. This has equally given the players the motivation to win the competition for the country.

“Our training has been very eventful. We are having intensive morning and evening training sessions. All players in camp are actively participating,” he said.

Ibitoye, however, said that Oliseh, who had been absent from the team since he was told to have a rest by his doctor, is in perfect physical condition handling the training sessions himself.

“Oliseh is in excellent physical shape. The reason he was away was because his doctor advised him to have a rest which we all understood.

“He is now back with us. He is involved in all aspects of the training physically at the University of Pretoria,” he said.
