Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles returned to training Tuesday ahead of their second Group C clash against Tunisia on Friday in the ongoing Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The match against the champions of the second edition of the competition in Sudan five years ago will hold at the same Stade Regional de Nyamirambo.

The home-based Eagles started their campaign in the CHAN on a winning note as they walloped the Mena du Niger 4-1 in their first group match Monday evening in Kigali.

Kolanut Boy, Chisom Chakatara’s hattrick and Osas Moses Okoro’s goals ensured that the Nigerian team secured three points from the match against Niger.

Chief Coach Sunday Oliseh returned the team to training immediately after Monday’s match with a scheduled session at 3p.m. (local time) on Tuesday at Mumena Stadium, Nyamirambo.

The twitter handle of the Super Eagles says the team are back in serious training for Tunisia who played 2-2 draw against Guniea in their match on Monday.

To Coach Oliseh, a good start in the tournament does not mean they should not take other matches with seriousness. “It is better for us to get a good winning start in the tournament,” he said.

The former Nigerian international told the players before Tuesday’s training that “we must keep our commitment and hardwork levels high for Tunisia.”

Team Coordinator, Patrick Pascal said that after Monday’s victory over the Mena, attention immediately shifted to Tunisia as the team plan to have winning streaks to the next round of the competition.

Already, Nigeria are leading Group C with three points, while Tunisia and Guinea who played 2-2, have a point each. Niger have no point for now.

“The team are back in training as attention is now shifted to Tunisia who we believe are equally a good team,” Pascal said.

Nigeria will play their third group match in Gisenyi against Guinea at the Rubavu Stadium on Tuesday, 26 January.
