Rivers Police in gun duel with armed robbers in GRA Port Harcourt

Rivers Police have engaged suspected armed robbers who were attempting to rob a new generation bank located at the new GRA Port Harcourt this Wednesday evening in a gun battle.

At the time this report heavy shooting was still ongoing around new GRA of Port Harcourt.

The development generated panic and tension as many scampered for safety.

Eyewitnesses told PM News that policemen were probably informed of the criminal activities of the robbers.

The gun battle has trapped motorists and even pedestrians in traffic gridlock on streets in the area,

Ahmad Muhammad, the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO confirmed that the police was carrying out an operation in the area but did not give details.

About a week ago, also in the evening robbers stormed Automated Teller Machine, ATM, of a new generation bank, located Off Ada George Road in Port Harcourt.
