Man 33, arrested for defiling girl 8

A 33-year old man has been arrested and charged before a magistrate’s court for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 8-year old daughter in Lagos State Western Nigeria.

The suspect, Henry Okwuome allegedly lured the victim into his apartment and defiled her causing her to bleed from her private part.

The incident happened at their resident at Abio Frank street, Idimu where Okwuome reside with the victim’s parents.

The incident was reported to the police at Idimu division and Okwuome was arrested and charged to court under the Criminal Code.

PM NEWS gathered that Okwuome lured the eight-year old to his apartment under the false pretence of sending her on an errand.

But when she got into his apartment, Okwuome ordered her to climb in his bed and he then removed her pant and penetrated her.

He also warned her not to tell anybody what happened before allowing her to go.

The matter became open when her mom wanted to wash her clothes and discovered that one of her clothes was stained with blood.

Her mom called and checked her private part and discovered that she had been deflowered which prompted blood flowing from her vagina.

Her mom inquired from her what happened and she narrated what transpired between her and the suspect.

Okwuome was brought to court on Friday where he was arraigned. He, however, pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N250,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The court also ordered that the sureties must show evidence of tax payment for four years and will deposit N200,000 to Chief Registrar’s account.

The matter was adjourned till 25 April 2016.
