Group lauds Ambode over construction of 114 roads

In a statement signed by its president, Mr. Seyi Bamigbade, the group had it that Ambode had impressed Lagosians with laudable and people-oriented programmes he had been embarking on since assuming office last year.

It could be recall that in a space of one week, Ambode commissioned 114 roads, two from each of the 57 council areas in the state. The road which were built by local contractors were of international standard and should last an average of 40 years.

The group in the statement reiterated the importance of roads to grassroots development, noting that accessible and motorable roads were vital to community development and business growth.

“Ambode with this 114 road projects has proven that he places high premium on grassroots development. The fulfillment of his his promise on the construction of the roads has strengthened our believe in the Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration and he can always count on our support;” the statement said.

The group urged Ambode not to limit his stride on grassroots development to road construction but also focus on drainages, schools and health facilities.

“We pledge our total support to the government of Akinwunmi Ambode. We want to assure him that we will stand by him by the time he comes out for second term. His development drive has been phenomenon and we are highly proud of him;” the statement read.
