An Ikeja Magistrate’s’ Court on Thursday remanded a 30-year-old security man, Joshua Joseph , in prison custody, pending sentence over the alleged theft of sweetened Dikins coconut flakes worth N250, 000.

Joseph, who lives at Tadeshe Str., Ayetoro, a Lagos suburb, had admitted before Magistrate G.O. Anifowoshe, that he stole the items from Justrite Superstore at Abule-Egba, Lagos.

Following his plea, the court remanded him at the Kirikiri Prisons till March 13, for facts and sentencing.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Mr Eruada Victor, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 24.

He said that Joseph stole the coconut flakes valued at N250, 000 and hid it in his pocket, and he was about leaving the Justrite Superstore’s premises, when he was caught and the matter was reported to the police.

The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 which carries a penalty of three years imprisonment.
