Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed has commended the Federal Government for its efforts to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the country through the N-power programme.
He made the commendation when he received National Coordinator of N-Power program and Senior Special Adviser to the President on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment, Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede, at Government House, Ilorin.
Ahmed said the state government will partner with the federal government to ensure the success of the programme.

“We are advocates for the youths and the less-privileged and will spare no effort to support programmes that will empower youths and make them self-reliant,” he said.
Ahmed said his administration had also evolved programmes similar to N-power programme driven by various platforms to find jobs for the teeming unemployed youths across the state.
The governor said the establishment of International Vocational Training and Entrepreneurs College (IVTEC) Ajasse-Ipo and acquisition of 2,500 hectares of land for youths farming were aimed at reducing the unemployment rate in the state.
Earlier, N-Power National Coordinator, Imoukhuede said he was in the state to monitor the program which was initiated by the federal government to create job, wealth and empower the youths.
