The FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Kimo, says the Command has arrested two members of a notorious armed robbery syndicate.
The suspects are Kingsley Ewoh, 24, and Chidibere Ejike of Waru area of Apo, FCT.
A statement by Spokesman of the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, on Tuesday said Kimo disclosed this after a security briefing from the Apo Divisional Police Officer, CSP Yahaya Jega, on the arrest of the suspects.
He said the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Monday after a distress call was received that they were carrying out a house-to-house robbery in the area.
The spokesman said that the syndicate were notorious for late-night attacks on fun seekers at relaxation joints.
He said that one of the suspects who sustained an injury while trying to escape had been taken to hospital for treatment.
Manzah stated that Kimo said under his supervision, the command would intensify its onslaught against unrepentant criminals in the territory.
He said items recovered from the suspects include: one locally fabricated revolver pistol, four live cartridges, 10 cell phones, three wallets and quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Manzah said the commissioner had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Command Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
