Mrs Nkiru Okpara, the National Coordinator, Association of Nigerian Women Business Network (ANWBN) says the association will partner with the Federal Government to reduce unemployment in the country.

Okpara said this Lagos on Sunday, on the sideline of the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association with the theme: “Crafting an Enduring Sustainable Pathway’’.

She the association would also use the planned partnership to contribute its quota toward finding a lasting solution to the economic recession.

“ANWBN is a team of women working together with a unified voice for business growth.

“We want the government to intensify its collaboration with ANWBN to achieve the association’s agenda within the next few years.

“When the government put women at the forefront, unemployment, poverty, the recession will be reduced.

“Government should empower women in order to create jobs for the entire nation,’’ Okpara said.

According to her, the government should also assist women in business to boost implementation of its policies and create access to credit.

She commended the Federal Government for promoting Made-In-Nigeria products.

Okpara also said that there was a need for more women to participate in government.

She, however, advised all women organisations to join ANWBN, describing the association as the leader in advisory matters to the government.

Okpara said, however, that ANWBN was not competing with men “but rather, collaborating with men to improve the economy of the country’’.
