Reacting to the President’s nationwide broadcast on Monday, Aina in Abeokuta said that the security of lives and properties of Nigerians should not be compromised.
The lawmaker, representing Ado-Odo Ota 1 Constituency, commended Nigerians for believing in the ability of President Buhari to move the country to greater heights.
“Now, that our President is back in the country after some time in the United Kingdom, I think he should focus more on the security of lives and property of Nigerians.
“The Federal Government should continue to provide necessary support to the security agencies in order for them to achieve the set objectives.
“President Buhari has promised in his broadcast that terrorists and criminals must be fought and destroyed. I believe he meant all that he promised,” he said.
The lawmaker also advised the President to address concerns of some aggrieved citizens in some parts of the country, especially the South-east.
He urged the Federal Government to call all aggrieved to a roundtable and find lasting solutions that would please the entire citizens of the country.
Aina condemned acts that could lead to chaos and affect the unity and progress of the country, stressing that the Federal Government must ensure that the unity of the country was non-negotiable.
He commended the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, for ensuring that day-to-day activities of government went smoothly in the absence of the President.
President Buhari returned to the country on Saturday after a medical vacation in the UK.
