A member of Osun House of Assembly, Mr Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has commended the Federal Government over its pledge to complete two key road projects in Osun.
Oyintiloye, in a statement issued on Monday in Osogbo, said that the pledge made by the Federal Government came as cheery news to the people of the state.
The two projects are the Ojutu bridge in Ilobu and the Gbongan-Iwo-Oyo road costing N537 million and N6.9 billion respectively.
Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works, Power and Housing, had on Friday said that government would ensure quick completion of the projects.
Fashola, who was represented by Mr Adetunji Adeoye, the South-West Director in the ministry, said this while inspecting the projects in Ilobu and Gbongan, all in Osun.
Oyintiloye (APC-Obokun) said that the promise “once again affirmed that the APC-led Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari was a responsive government.’’
The lawmaker recalled that he had raised a motion under matter of public importance in 2016 concerning abandoned Federal Government projects in Osun.
The House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy said the projects, when completed, would enhance the free flow of goods and services as well as boost economic development.
He also said they would complement the efforts of the state government in ensuring good road network.
