The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has urged registered voters in Anambra, who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so now.
Ezeokafor made the call while speaking with newsmen on Monday, shortly after inaugurating the Achina Ecclesiastical Region at St Charles’ Borromeo Catholic Church, Achina in Aguata Local Government Area.
He described the PVC as “the power of the electorate to elect good leaders,” and said that failure of registered voters to obtain their PVCs was a disservice to the country.

The cleric urged political leaders and others in various positions of authority to be responsive to their duties.
According to him, security of lives and property of the masses, provision of necessary amenities and welfare of the people are the paramount responsibilities of government officials to the people.
Earlier in a sermon in a Holy Mass for the ceremony, Ezeokafor had charged the new Ecclesiastical Region to use the opportunity to preach love and peace “which Jesus Christ represented on earth’’.
