The residents of Oworonshoki community have lauded the Lagos State Government over the Water Metering program and overall improved Water supply across the State.

The Oloworo of Oworonshoki, Oba Bashir Oloruntoyin Soliu, (Elebo I) made this assertion on Tusday in his palace while meeting with the Management of the Lagos Water Corporation, led by the Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Miminu Badmus and his entourage over the billing complaint by the residents.

Oba Bashir declared that water metering has come to stay in Oworo, because it is a State Government’s policy to conserve water and pay for actual water used.

He commended the Corporation over recent improved water supply across the State and prayed for its sustainability.

“We, Oworonshoki residents now enjoy uninterrupted potable water supply, which cannot be compared to contaminated borehole water,” he said.

The oba, however, urged LWC to fast-track installation of meters in the remaining properties in the community, noting that the system is a welcome initiative.

“As our appreciation and support for LWC, we shall pay our water bills as when due,” he stated.

Badmus, in his contribution thanked the oba in his efforts toward bringing water supply to the community.

He praised the Oloworo for using his position to bring about amicable resolution to residents’ complaint, adding that the water corporation is always ready to listen to the complaints of the customers and resolve the issues amicably, he concluded.
