Members of the Association of Formidable Education Development (AFED) has staged a rally to the Lagos House, Ikeja, to endorse Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for a second term in office.
The group said as a member of the Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, they decided to come to thank the governor for the good works he is doing across the state, aside providing room and support for them to thrive as a group of schools catering for the needs of the low income earners in the state.
They claimed that as they move round the city of Lagos, they saw all the good projects the governor is executing, which is positively affecting the residents and improving lives.
The leader of the association, Mrs Esther Dada said rather than Ambode closing down their schools, he has through the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund been supporting them to upgrade facilities in their schools.
This, she said, has helped to provide better services and quality teaching in their various schools.
Member of the group from different local governments in the state who converged for the rally at the State House, Ikeja, intermittently sang praised of the Governor, saying they are not just going to vote for him, they would mobilise votes to return the governor for a second term.
Also speaking, the Coordinator of Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, Seyi Bamigbade said AFED, which is an arm of the group, was working tirelessly to ensure that good governance would continue in the state by supporting Governor Ambode.
‘’ What we are doing is to ensure that the present government led by Akinwunmi Amdode is allowed to continue in office to implement his programmes aimed at making Lagos a mega modern smart city. We will stop at nothing to mobilizing Lagosians for his re-election,’’ he said.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on the Environment, Babatunde Hunpe, who received members of the group, thanked the endorsers, saying it showed that the governor is working and that the people saw and appreciated the good works of the Governor.
