Mr Labari Tella, member Kaduna State House of Assembly has tasked the newly elected Chairman of Jema’a local government to be prudent and equitable the discharge of his responsibilities to the people.

Mr Peter Averik of the PDP won the local council chairmanship seat in the election conducted on May 12.

Mr Tella who spoke on Monday in Kafanchan urged the elected chairman not to betray the confidence reposed on him by the electorate.

He advised him to run an all inclusive local government administration that would give everyone, irrespective of political, ethnic or religious affiliation a sense of belonging.

“I must commend the relentless efforts of all party players who stood their grounds to ensure that the people’s mandate prevailed.

“The result is a clear demonstration of the power of the electorate who believe in the ideology of the credible candidature and defied all odds to ensure victory was attained,” he said.

He commended his constituents for demonstrating maturity during the exercise and urged them to maintain the tempo so that same victory would play out in subsequent elections.

“Jema’a local government did not record any form of misconduct and we must give credit to the people for respecting electoral guidelines,” he said.
